Report Discrimination or Harassment

Equality NC announces their new Documenting Discrimination initiative, an effort to collect the stories of people who have faced discrimination and violence based on their sexual orientation or gender expression. An online web-form, accessed at http://www.equalitync.org/discrimination, allows individuals throughout North Carolina to report instances of anti-LGBT discrimination, harassment, and hate crimes.

"We've learned that sharing our stories of how legal discrimination affects our lives and our families is the most effective means of convincing both elected officials and the public of the justice of our cause," said Ian Palmquist, Executive Director-Programs. "This initiative will allow us to collect these important stories from communities across North Carolina and use them to create change."

"The purpose of Soulforce [http://www.soulforce.org] is freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and     transgender people from religious and political oppression through the practice of relentless

nonviolent resistance."

Wherever you are on your journey of faith,
Whatever your sexual orientation or gender identity,
Whatever your religion, race, age, ability, color, or creed,
You are welcome to join us in learning, teaching, and applying
the 'soul force' principles of relentless nonviolent resistance
as taught by Gandhi and King
as we work together to stop spiritual violence
against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people
that flows out of the teachings and actions
of religious leaders and their communities of faith.
