Entertainers

PFLAG Winston-Salem is excited to announce that Clare Fader & The Vaudevillains will perform at this year's Gala!

"A wondrous exploration of the cabaret of the fantastic... flirtatiously naughty, slyly seductive, beautifully performed, ingeniously arranged - and a great deal of fun." -- Ed Bumgardner, Relish

Welcome to the wonderful world of Clare Fader & The Vaudevillains. This genre-defying group has been winning the hearts of critics and music fans of all ages with their refreshingly unique blend of cabaret, jazz, pop, and world music. With world-class lyrics and a thoroughly entertaining live show, get ready to be whisked away to Berlin cabarets, Parisian Cafés, and the glory days of Tin Pan Alley -- with a entirely modern twist.

The group has performed up and down the East Coast over the past five years. In February 2004, they made an exciting symphony debut with The Winston-Salem Symphony in North Carolina. With the "masterful and colorful"* arrangements by Damon Carmona, look for more symphony performances with Clare Fader & The Vaudevillains in the coming year.

Their music has also proven to be a hit with the folks at MTV. Seven of Miss Fader’s songs have been heard on MTV’s Real World over the past three seasons. If you are one of the many fans who searched the web high and low, to found out who is responsible for the song "The Wine" (There are three hundred step, you’ve come to the right place!

The groups newest cd, Seventh and Trade was released in December of last year to rave reviews. Jeri Rowe of Triad Style proclaims it “unforgettable stuff. Ms. Fader’s debut cd, The Elephant’s Baby, is considered to be the jewel in the crown of independent-record making. With over forty musicians playing everything from bassoons to bicycle spokes, the disc must be heard to be believed.

The Vaudevillains Include…

Scott Manring, 'guitar
Mary K Elkins, 'cello
Aaron Bachelder, percussion
Andy Mabe, upright bass.

"An exotic libation in a world where Budweiser is the big seller." -- Worcester News And Telegram

" Coy, feline, and a little ominous , [Clare Fader] belongs to the world of crumbling staircases and dark nights, alone with a snifter of absinthe." -- Asheville Express
